Use style controls when a guide should look more polished, match your brand, or make an action easier to notice.

Background

Use Background to choose what appears behind the screenshot. You can use a solid color, a built-in image, or an uploaded image. For customer-facing guides, keep the background simple enough that the product remains easy to see.

Border

Use Border to adjust how screenshots are framed. A subtle border or shadow can help the captured screen stand out from the background.

Zoom

Use Zoom when the action happens in a small part of the screen. Select the step, set the zoom level, and move the focus point to the area viewers should notice. If every step needs the same treatment, apply the zoom style across the guide.

Cursor and highlights

Use Cursor and Highlight to show where the viewer should look next.
  • Show highlights for important clicks, fields, or choices.
  • Hide highlights when the screenshot already makes the action obvious.
  • Hide the cursor on steps where it distracts from the message.

Section slides

Section slides are useful for openings, transitions, and short chapter breaks. Choose the light or dark appearance based on the background and how much contrast the title needs.
