# Customize guide style

> Create themes and adjust backgrounds, zoom, and cursor behavior.

Use style controls when a guide should look more polished, match your brand, or make an action easier to notice.

## Open style settings

## Themes

A theme saves your logo, background, cursor, and speech settings so you can reuse them across guides. The theme editor has four tabs:

| Tab | What you set |
| - | - |
| Branding | Your logo, as a PNG or JPEG up to 2 MB. |
| Background | A solid color or an uploaded image. |
| Cursor | Style, color, and size. |
| Speech | Voice, with speed and volume for supported voices. |

Theme edits show in the preview. Click **Publish theme** to save them, or **Cancel** to discard them. Publishing changes to an existing theme updates guides that use its settings.

Speed and volume controls are not shown for ElevenLabs voices.

The **Branding** tab previews your logo on light and dark backgrounds. A theme's logo replaces the Guideless logo in the editor header and on shared guide pages.

Open a theme's menu to **Edit**, **Rename**, **Set as default**, **Duplicate**, or **Delete** it. The first theme becomes the workspace default, and new recordings start from the default theme. The default theme cannot be deleted.

## Background

Open a theme's **Background** tab to choose what appears behind the screenshot. You can use a solid color or an uploaded image.

For customer-facing guides, keep the background simple enough that the product remains easy to see.

## Zoom

Use **Zoom** when the action happens in a small part of the screen. Select the step, click **Zoom** below the preview, adjust **Scale**, and use **Focus** when available to move the focus point to the area viewers should notice.

Click **Apply to all** to copy the zoom level to every screenshot step. Each step keeps its own focus point.

## Cursor

Set the cursor's style, color, and size in the theme's **Cursor** tab.

For an individual screenshot step, open the cursor menu below the preview. Its label shows the current setting:

* **Click** shows the cursor with a click animation.
* **Hover** shows the cursor without a click animation.
* **Hidden** hides the cursor on that step.

To mark an area of the screenshot, click **Annotate** and add arrows, shapes, text, or marker strokes. See [Annotate](/guides/annotate-images).
